He is registered in the Architects Register.Studio Van Doorn bases its power on communication, creativity and crafts. Sound interiors and design with a twist come from listening to and cooperating with clients. During 15 years of experience Van Doorn roots his design process in research and recycling. Love for craft and family business are at the core of his work. Old becomes new on his journey to find innovative solutions. In his childhood Rene van Doorn designed floating hotels, wondrous castles in the air of amazement and happiness. Van Doorns mature designs still retain playfulness and hope for a better world. Designers: René van Doorn and team Van Doorn is a multifunctional, versatile interior architect and Dutch designer. He works as studio van Doorn for both private and corporate clients on interior assignments with his team.
Rene designs his own furniture, accessories and entire interiors. He was also a freelance trend watcher for various lifestyle magazines, he advises design furniture stores and takes care of styling at photo shoots or exhibitions. Van Doorn graduated in 1999 from the Utrecht School of the Arts with a specialisation in architectural design and furniture design.

My partners
We deliver customised design and supervise the entire process. From the initial design to contract drawings, construction requests, building permits, construction supervision, all the way to completion; We look after it all, from A to Z. If desired, we will work with a fixed team of engineers and contractors to ensure there are no surprises. All our employees are registered in the Dutch Register of Architects (het ArchitectenRegister).
Studio van Doorn works intensively with KPMV Architects. Michiel Vrehen is an architect and Karin Princée, along with René van Doorn, is an interior designer. We design complete new builds, villas and offices; and we also have many renovations to our name, including historic buildings (Municipalities or monument). Most of our clients are from the private sector, but we also work with corporate customers.

STREETlights: indoor lighting from used streetlights
In the Netherlands slowly all streetlights are being replaced for LED lights. The old luminaires usually disappear into the landfill. This inspired designers Derkx and van Doorn to gather the different shapes of streetlights to transform them to sustainable indoor lighting. The STREETlights are being assembled into new shapes, polished or painted in colour without erasing the traces from the past. Together with Esther Derkx we created and launched the Street Lights collection.
